Hello!
My name is Yuka (She/Her) and I am glad that you are here. I hold a Master of Counselling degree from Monash University, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia with a major in psychology and a minor in law and society and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.
I believe that one’s past, pain, and struggles are unique to each individual and that you are the expert of your own experience. I also believe that within each of us there lies a resilience and inner strength, an ability to heal and grow from emotional pain and lead a fulfilling life. I see my role as helping you uncover and connect with these innate qualities by meeting you wherever you are at and walking alongside you on your journey towards change and greater fulfillment.
My passion for being a counsellor stems from my own past experience with physical and mental illness. Having experienced both has made me realize how mental health is as important as physical health, and has highlighted the benefits of a holistic approach to healing that includes both mind and body. Rather than applying a ‘one-size-fits-all” approach, it is my intention to provide support that is tailored to your unique needs. I welcome people of all ages; children, adolescents, and adults.
Originally from Japan, I grew up in Singapore. I honour diversity by taking an empathic and eclectic approach to my work. I look forward to meeting with you to explore your strengths and goals and to support you on your journey.

30 minute Check-in session: $80 + GST
60 minute Individual Counselling session: $150.00 + GST
75 minute Extended session: $187.50 + GST
Sliding Scale $120.00-$140.00 + GST (currently full)
